I live in Belgium, enjoy bicycling and reading books.
This site is build with Jekyll and hosted on Codeberg Pages. The static site is locally generated and pushed to the public repo. Creation and publishing of posts is automated (everything except the content, that stuff is manual labor.) using some bash scripts. Usually I like tinkering with this more than writing posts.
There is no real reason why I am using Jekyll and not Hugo, Eleventy or any other static site generator, besides that it works for me. Not sure why other people make other choices.
The site theme is a modified version of Dan Romero’s clio. Among other things, I added automatic dark/light mode switching with a very few lines of CSS.
You might have noticed I wrote more text about the technical part of this site than about me personally. Go figure.
